Specialty Nature Camp

Adamah Nature Camp offers a week-long adventure connecting campers to nature through exploration, sustainable crafts, wilderness skills, and scientific discovery – all rooted in Jewish wisdom. Activities include hiking trails, exploring forests and ponds, observing wildlife, and fostering an appreciation for nature’s beauty. Participants will learn wilderness skills such as shelter building and fire creation and engage in exciting scientific experiments. 

Inquiries about programming can be directed to detroit@adamah.org, while camp policies and registration details can be obtained from the friendly camp staff.

This summer, we are offering two weeks of Adamah Nature Camp: 

Junior Specialty Adamah Nature Camp – July 14th – July 18th

Retreat, Farm, Learn and Celebrate at Family Farm Camp!

Family Farm Camp brings together families for an immersive experience of learning, playing, celebrating and community building.

“Each year we look forward to your family farm camp. To see our children grow from year to year is truly a blessing. We also get to see their ability to integrate environmental knowledge and Jewish knowledge into harmony in one complete package. Some of our very closest friendships have been solidified through family camp.”

Retreat Details

Earth-based Jewish wisdom is woven into campfire songs and storytelling, wild edible walks and brachot (blessings), high adventure ropes course & team building games, night hikes, and of course a vibrant and joyous Shabbat celebration! Kids get a taste of camp while parents and teens enjoy their own earth-based, camp-vibe exploits.  Family Farm Camp will then join Adamah Adventure Camp for the highlight of their week, the famous Shabbat Party!

2025 Pricing

  • Standard Room Double Occupancy: $445 per adult
  • Camping in our new Bunkhouse: $355 per adult
  • Youth ages 5 – 12:  $270 per person
  • Youth ages 2 – 4: $175 per person
  • Up to 2:  $0 (but must be registered)

Children’s rates assume sharing a room with at least one adult (13+), regardless of lodging style. There is a $300 additional charge for an extra room next door if your family needs additional space.

Program Highlights

Retreat

Relax in our natural setting and comfortable accommodations. Step away from your daily routine to enjoy quality time with your family in nature. Delicious, healthy farm-to-table food will be served throughout Family Camp, and our warm and dedicated staff will make sure that you are taken care of.

Farm

Get your hands dirty on our 5-acre, organic farm. Activities include harvesting fresh produce and preparing snacks and meals from our farm, visiting the animals, and tasting the summer’s abundance in our dining room’s meals. Our farm is a great way to connect to the land, the food we eat, and each other!

Learn

Parallel learning sessions for parents and children will ensure that everyone is learning at family camp from making pita over a fire to doing the high-ropes course to Jewish and environmental topics. Everyone involved will learn with their hands and bodies on Pearlstone’s beautiful campus, including the creek and nature trails. Traditional camp activities, such as swimming, sports, music, and arts & crafts will be enjoyed by all.

Celebrate

We’ll celebrate Shabbat in a family-friendly environment, building community with other young, Jewish families. Walk the nature trails, toast marshmallows and stargaze by the campfire, and celebrate the season at Pearlstone!

A Torah Yoga Retreat: Awakening Our Ancestral Roots

This experience is for anybody looking to join an uplifting and relaxing Jewish-inspired spiritual retreat. No previous yoga practice or Torah study is necessary to participate, all are welcome!

  • Standard Room (Private Bathroom): $2,110 per person in double occupancy | $2,795 per person in single occupancy
  • Basic Room (Shared full bathroom between two rooms): $1,830 per adult in double occupancy | $2,360 per adult in single occupancy
  • Camper (bring your own tent, access to shared bathrooms and hot showers): $1,395 per adult (not per tent)

Program Highlights

We will enter the retreat through the gateway of Shabbat. Our weekdays will be filled with the deep spiritual wisdom and light of Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Rebecca, Jacob, Leah and Rachel. We will also be inviting in our personal ancestors to guide and strengthen our lives.  

The ancestors are our ancient roots. In their lives is embedded the purpose of the Jewish people. In our encounter with them, we can come to know what G!d wants from us- the holy and the elevated. (Jerusalem Torah scholar, Nurit G’al Dor) 

All levels of religious observance are welcome. This experience is for all who are looking for a vibrant, inspiring spiritual retreat.  

All meals are kosher with vegetarian and vegan options. Meals are prepared using organically grown ingredients from the onsite Adamah Farm.

Diane Bloomfield

Diane Bloomfield has been a student and teacher of Torah in Jerusalem since the early 1980’s.  She is a pioneer in the field of Torah Yoga and the author of Torah Yoga: Experiencing Jewish Wisdom through Classic Postures and Playing with Fire: Hebrew Doorways to the Jewish Soul. Diane teaches Torah and Torah Yoga classes and retreats in synagogues, schools, and retreat centers in Israel, the United States and Canada, as well as on the web.  Diane lives in Jerusalem.

Nancy Wolfson-Moche

Nancy Wolfson is a nutrition and sacred eating educator, coach, chef, and author working with people of all ages to improve their health and well-being through making informed choices. Nancy elevates the practices of cooking and eating by infusing them with meaning expressed in traditional Jewish texts. She is the founder of FoodLab, a nutrition education program integrating food science and culinary arts. Her book, Vegetables for Breakfast from A to Z, invites the reader to re-imagine breakfast by enhancing it with fresh, seasonal produce. Sharon Epstein

As a youth, Sharon Epstein sensed an inner Divine light of awareness while dancing in an Israeli folk dance circle in her Hebrew school courtyard. From that time forward, she felt a yearning for God, which she pursued through attending Jewish prayer experiences, studying dance, yoga and following a path into the healing arts.

Professionally, she worked as a dance therapist and then drawn to the depth and vitality of yoga, she became a yoga teacher. Sharon wanted to draw upon the profound wisdom of yoga and also revive, not ignore or abandon her identity as a Jew. She collaborated with her rabbi, Tara Feldman offering yoga classes inspired by Jewish holidays, text, metaphor and music. Together they authored a workbook, Into A Jewish Holiday Year with Yoga. Alongside her colleague and teacher Diane Bloomfield, Sharon is honored to create Torah Yoga retreats that will inspire meaningful connections and spiritual joy at the Isabella Freedman Retreat Center.
