Located in the hills of Simi Valley\, just North of Los Angeles\, the campus is known for its captivating architecture\, the natural landscape\, and its inspiring environment for artistic exploration and community engagement. All year\, the Brandeis-Bardin Campus welcomes diverse programs focused on Jewish learning\, creativity\, and social responsibility.  \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nFAQs\n\n\n \n \n \n What are the safety and security measures? \n \n \n\n \n Select staff members will be first aid and CPR certified. In the event of a medical emergency\, you will be taken to Adventist Health Simi Valley\, which is 4 miles away\, and 11 minutes by car. Students are responsible for bringing and managing their own medications. \n \n \n\n \n \n What is the food situation at the retreat? \n \n \n\n \n All meals will be provided in the dining hall at Brandeis-Bardin Campus. All food will be kosher certified under OU supervision. Food served will be vegetarian / pescatarian. Snacks will be provided. Special arrangements can be made for those with food allergies\, please message staff Marissa Fink (marissa.fink@adamah.org) with these allergies. Students may bring their own snacks and water bottles\, but these must not be brought into the main building or dining area and must be cleaned up to avoid pests in the lodges. \n \n \n\n \n \n What do I need to know about travel arrangements? \n \n \n\n \n Transportation to and from the retreat is fully covered. Each student must make staff aware of details to organize transportation to and from the retreat. If you plan to drive\, let us know so we can help coordinate. If you plan to fly\, train\, or bus\, please start looking at travel options\, as prices will only get more expensive the closer to the retreat date. Please confirm your preferential travel plans with Marissa (marissa.fink@adamah.org) and then we will help you book and pay. Staff will be in touch in September / October to confirm travel plans and coordinate any possible carpooling. Please plan to arrive between noon-2 p.m. on Friday 11/7 and leave between noon-2 p.m. on Sunday 11/9. \n \n \n\n \n \n Who can attend? \n \n \n\n \n Students from Adamah on Campus California Chapters are encouraged to apply! New leaders\, and emerging members of the Adamah on Campus student community are also encouraged to apply. No prior experience is required\, one should be enrolled in undergraduate studies in California\, interested in Jewish community building\, nature connection\, and collective action. \n \n \n\n \n \n When and how do I register? \n \n \n\n \n Registration is now open! Register by submitting this form. Registration is due September 15\, 2025. \n \n \n\n \n \n What is the registration cost? \n \n \n\n \n Thanks to the generosity of Adamah donors\, we are able to cover the entire cost of this experience. A $50 deposit is required upon registration. This will be refunded after you have attended the retreat. If you cancel less than 15 days prior to the start of the retreat (which would be any date after 10/16/25) or do not show up to the retreat\, the deposit will not be refunded. Transportation to and from the retreat is fully covered\, please let us know how you plan to travel for coordination. \n \n \n\n \n \n What are the Shabbat Observance Practices?\n \n \n\n \n Adamah is a pluralistic organization\, and our members observe Shabbat in different ways. Participants can choose who they would like to room with at the retreat based on Shabbat observance practices and preferences. In public spaces and for all retreat programming\, we will observe Shabbat traditionally\, which includes not using electronics\, not playing instruments\, not writing\, and not turning on/off lights. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns. \n \n \n\n \n \n Who will I room with? \n \n \n\n \n Participant accommodations will be in double motel style rooms with 2 queen beds and a private bathroom. Roommate requests are encouraged on the registration form; while we can’t guarantee that all requests are fulfilled\, we will do our best to fulfill mutual requests.   \n \n \n\n \n \n What are the COVID protocols? \n \n \n\n \n We work with American Jewish University to ensure we are prioritizing safety in all our procedures and plans for the retreat. We encourage all participants to take a rapid test the day before the retreat. If you test positive for COVID or have any symptoms\, we kindly ask that you not attend. If you are feeling at all unwell or have reason to believe you were exposed to COVID\, please let us know\, and we will work with you to consider what options might be.  \n \n \n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLearn More about Adamah on Campus URL:https://adamah.org/event/adamah-on-campus-california-shabbaton/ LOCATION:American Jewish University-Brandeis Bardin Campus\, Simi Valley\, Los Angeles\, CA CATEGORIES:Adamah on Campus,College Students,LA ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://adamah.org/wp-content/uploads/Adamah-on-Campus-Baltimore-Shabbaton-2025.jpg END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
