Joey works to educate and train communities around the world to make music a vibrant\, joy-filled force in Jewish life. He is the author of The Torah of Music (2017 National Jewish Book Award) and Building Singing Communities. L’eila\, his eighth album of original music\, is his latest release on Rising Song Records. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRabbi Aviva Richman \n\n\n\nRabbi Aviva Richman is a Rosh Yeshiva at the Hadar Institute\, and has been on the faculty since 2010. A graduate of Oberlin College\, she studied in the Pardes Kollel and the Drisha Scholars’ Circle and was ordained by Rabbi Danny Landes. She completed a doctorate in Talmud at NYU. Interests include Talmud\, Halakhah\, Midrash and gender\, and also a healthy dose of nigunim. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRabbi Elie Kaunfer \n\n\n\nRabbi Elie Kaunfer is President and CEO of the Hadar Institute. A Wexner Graduate Fellow and Dorot Fellow\, he has been named multiple times to Newsweek’s list of the top 50 rabbis in America. Elie is the author of Empowered Judaism: What Independent Minyanim Can Teach Us About Building Vibrant Jewish Communities (Jewish Lights\, 2010). \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJakir Manela \n\n\n\nAdamah’s Chief Executive Officer Jakir Manela\, a recognized leader in the Jewish sustainability movement\, was trained as a Teva educator\, established Kayam Farm at Pearlstone in 2007\, and served as the Executive Director of Pearlstone and as a Hazon board member for nine years. His current band\, Distant Cousins\, has been featured in films\, tv shows\, and commercials and has composed original score for Netflix and several DreamWorks Animation series. Dov released a solo album in 2022 entitled Your Faith In The Night / Emunatcha BaLeilot. Dov has served several communities as the ‘Shaliach Tzibur‘\, leading services\, community programs and Jewish education. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAura Schwartz is the ninth child among the twelve offspring of Rabbi Shlomo and Olivia Schwartz\, and was raised in a dynamic and lively Chabad household in LA. Her first foray into public speaking occurred at the tender age of four\, when she regaled an audience with a remarkably detailed story at one of her parents’ weekly Shabbat dinners – often for over 60 ‘strangers.’ Over the years\, Aura honed her innate talent for addressing diverse audiences. After two decades of working in the makeup industry in NY and LA\, and then becoming a certified life coach through IPEC Life Coaching School\, Aura has now returned to her roots and has been leading Torah classes and spiritual womens’ retreats. Drawing on her passion for helping women discover their genuine inner beauty and peace\, Aura developed ‘Rest & Reset\,’ a women’s retreat to rejuvenate both body and soul. Abby teaches adults at the 92NY\, My Jewish Learning\, and Melton Adult Jewish Learning\, among other organizations. She holds a BA in history from Yeshiva University and an MA in Judaic studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary.   \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJulie Tonti is a Potter\, Jewish Educator and Yoga Teacher residing outside Washington\, DC. He received a certificate in Jewish Philosophy and Pedagogy from the Shalom Hartman Institute and Smicha from Yeshivat Sulam Ya’akov in Jerusalem. He recently authored and illustrated his original graphic novel “The Book of Secrets”  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChana Raskin\, founder and facilitator of RAZA\, grew up entrenched in the world of Chabad Hasidut and its stirringly complex melodies. These nigunim have carried her at every point on her journey. Her debut album KAPELYA was released by Rising Song Records in February 2023\, followed by sold-out concerts in NYC\, Jerusalem and Los Angeles. Chana leads RAZA circles—meditative nigun deep dives—for diverse communities around the world. Both in her music and song circles\, and especially in her one-on-one sessions\, Chana strives to hold a space with others recovering from illness or traumatic injury\, or simply seeking Home. She revels in the healing powers of quiet\, laughter\, humming and movement\, and resides in the Blue Ridge Mountains with her family.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRabbi Ben Greenfield serves as a Rabbi & Educator at de Toledo High School\, in Los Angeles\, where he directs the advanced Iyun track.  His innovative writing on Jewish thought has been awarded the Whizin\, Zackheim-Rabinowitz\, and Ateret Zvi prizes. He trained at Gush\, YU\, Oxford\, and Johns Hopkins\, before receiving Semicha from Yeshivat Chovevei Torah as a Wexner Fellow.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEden Pearlstein is a poet\, performer\, chronic collaborator\, and cofounder of Ayin Press. Over the past two decades he has created aneclectic portfolio of audio\, visual\, textual\, and curatorial works and projects. As an author and editor\, Eden has conceptually and creativelycontributed to over 50 books of contemporary Jewish spirituality\, art\, and literature. Most recently\, Eden published his first book of poems entitled Nothing Is for Everyone. He partners with congregations and clergy\, supporting them in cultivating vibrant prayer and fostering musical-spiritual creativity. His work is shaped by his extensive rabbinic experience in chaplaincy\, spiritual counseling\, education\, and senior congregational leadership. \n\n\n\nAs a composer\, performer\, and ritual artist\, Yosef blends ancient devotional music from his Mizrahi and Ashkenazi heritage with contemporary American and Israeli Jewish traditions to inspire healing\, connection\, and social change. He has released two acclaimed albums—Open My Heart (2019) and Abitah (2023)—through Rising Song Records\, with his music sung in communities and camps across the U.S. and Israel. A sought-after vocalist and collaborator\, Yosef has contributed to dozens of albums spanning the Jewish music landscape\, including as a longtime member of the Hadar Ensemble\, led by Joey Weisenberg. In 2018-19\, Yosef was selected for the Kimmel Center’s Jazz Residency alongside klezmer trombonist Dan Blacksberg. She serves on the Board of Directors for HIAS and the Parliament of the World’s Religions. He received ordination in 1986 from Rabbi Roth\, dayan of UTA Satmer. Rabbi Katz studied in Brisk and in Yeshivat Beis Yosef\, Navaradok for over ten years. A graduate of the HaSha’ar Program for Jewish Educators\, Rabbi Katz has taught at the Ma’ayanot High School for Girls and SAR High School. Rabbi Katz was appointed as Rabbi of the Prospect Heights Shul in Brooklyn\, NY and currently holds several positions including Director of the Lindenbaum Center for Halakhic Studies and Educational Director of Judaic Studies at Luria Academy in Brooklyn\, NY. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDr. Sharon Flatto\n\n\n\nA professor of Judaic Studies and the Director of the Judaic Studies Graduate Program at Brooklyn College\, she received her Ph.D. in Jewish history from Yale University\, her B.A. from Barnard College\, and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Brown University. Specializing in early modern Jewish history and Kabbalah\, Professor Flatto has taught at a broad range of educational institutions\, including Yale\, Queens College and Brown\, and at numerous adult education programs. She has received multiple awards and grants\, and is the author of “The Kabbalistic Culture of Eighteenth-Century Prague: Ezekiel Landau (the ‘Noda Biyehudah’) and his Contemporaries” (Littman Press\, 2010) and various scholarly articles. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRabbi Avraham Arieh Trugman\n\n\n\nRabbi Avraham Arieh Trugman has forty years of experience in the field of Jewish education. He was a founding family of Moshav Meor Modiim in 1976\, where he served several years as the Director of the Center of Jewish Education\, which successfully ran programs for over 5\,000 participants from over 25 countries. In 1988\, Rabbi Trugman and his wife took the position of Regional Directors of NCSY in Denver\, Colorado. The Trugmans returned to Israel in 1995 and are now the Directors of Ohr Chadash: New Horizons in Jewish Experience\, a dynamic program they created that has run programs for tens of thousands of participants. Their website\, you-tube channel and facebook have gotten millions of visits. Rabbi Trugman has visited over 45 cities world-wide\, leading Shabbatons\, giving classes\, performing music and serving as scholars-in-residence. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRachel Trugman\n\n\n\nRachel Trugman\, along with her work for Ohr Chadash\, is also a family therapist with a private practice and an artist who has published a coloring book with poetry entitled Tales of the Talmud. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChazzan Yoni Stokar\n\n\n\nYoni Stokar is a NJ based musician and prayer leader. He is the Chazzan at Congregation Bnai Sholom/Fair Lawn Jewish Center\, and the Drummer and Band Leader of Ta Shma Orchestra. Yoni has performed and recorded with bands and performers across the spectrum of Jewish music and has led performances and services around the world. He released his debut album “Atzeres” earlier this year. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJo Bakal\n\n\n\nJo Bakal of Tezoona Wellness\, LLC is a National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach\, educator\, and passionate advocate for helping people live vibrant\, healthy lives. She integrates therapeutic massage\, Qigong\, Reiki\, and plant-based culinary guidance to support holistic well-being. Based in Tampa\, Florida\, Jo’s expertise extends to cancer support and mindful movement\, creating a compassionate\, non-judgmental space where individuals feel empowered to embrace lasting change. She has shared her knowledge through workshops\, retreats\, writing\, TV appearances\, and podcasts\, including her cookbook\, Real Food From My Table to Yours. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nZev (Walter) Schlomann\n\n\n\nZev (Walter) Schlomann is an award-winning filmmaker and founder of Heritage Media Group\, a boutique film company that creates video biographies depicting the extraordinary lives of ordinary people.  His recent documentaries Ezra: May His Memory Be For A Blessing (2021)\, and The Hidden Court (2023) received numerous awards at domestic and international film festivals. Zev has lectured on the merits of recording one’s family history at Genealogical Societies\, Religious Institutions\, Schools\, Consortiums\, and Conferences. In 2024 he published his first book\, Transmitting Wisdom: The Art of the Video Biography.  He is currently producing a documentary about the history of the Star of David.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRabbi Matisyahu Tonti\n\n\n\nRabbi Matisyahu Tonti has spent four years living and studying in Israel where he received a certificate in Jewish Philosophy and Pedagogy from the Shalom Hartman Institute\, and Smicha from Yeshivat Sulam Ya’akov in Jerusalem. All rooms are accessible\, with some ADA compliant. Guest lounge areas are available near all rooms. \n\nLodge 4 Dorm Rooms: \nEach room sleeps 2-6 people in bunks and twin beds\, with common bathrooms and a lounge area down the hall. \n\nLodge 5 Standard Rooms: \nThese rooms accommodate 1-2 adult guests and a young child and feature one queen bed\, pull out lounge chair\, desk\, mini fridge\, dresser\, closet and ensuite bathroom with standing shower. This building has a small lobby which serves as a guest lounge. \n				\n			\n\n	 				\n				\n					Important Details\n					\n				\n\n				\n					For any family unit of less than 6 people\, adding an additional room results in a fee of $2\,000.  Select the add on option in the registration form. \nRates inclusive of all food\, lodging\, campus amenities\, on-site programming/activities and taxes (6% sales tax + 9.5% lodging tax on applicable portions of package). \nPearlstone is only accepting reservations for the entire Pesach holiday (April 11 -21). \nAllergen Note: While Pearlstone strives to be nut aware through most of the year\, tree nuts and tree nut-based items\, including almond flour\, are used throughout the Pesach holiday. Pearlstone cannot guarantee any tree-nut free food options as cross-contact is likely to occur even in foods that do not contain tree nuts. Afternoons will include extensive activities for children and families. Guests seeking additional childcare or babysitting for kids under 2 are welcome to arrange and pay for babysitting services privately and must share details of these plans with Pearlstone in advance and must comply with Pearlstone’s COVID-19 policies. \nWe encourage all guests to attend our communal seders. Separate tables for private family seders in shared dining room are available on a limited\, first-come-first-serve basis. Pearlstone is currently unable to offer private seder rooms. \nNo off-campus excursions are currently planned nor included in package rates.
