Shamati integrates Jewish ancestral wisdom\, tradition\, text\, and ritual to help Jewish professionals invest in the mental\, emotional\, and spiritual wellbeing of Jewish youth experiencing a range of climate emotions.\, as well as building the resilience of educators themselves in these unprecedented times. \n\n\n\nShamati – “I have heard” or “I have listened”– signifies connection\, resilience\, and whole-hearted Jewish community; it is grounded in the joyful fulfillment of Jewish purpose\, applying the inspiration\, motivation\, and optimism in our tradition to today’s challenges. The initiative will result in a body of resources\, professional development offerings\, and field leadership that leads the Jewish community in meeting this moment. \n\n\n\nParticipation is free\, and select participants can receive a $100 focus group stipend for post-cohort feedback. \n\n\n\n\nApply\n\n\n\n	\n						\n				\n					WHO\n					\n				\n\n				\n					Designed to train and activate youth engagement staff to support students leading climate work\, Shamati connects Adamah’s extensive network of Jewish professionals with Adamah staff and climate anxiety experts\, who will facilitate cohort sessions. Any Jewish professionals who work with youth are encouraged to participate. Cohort participants will receive a certificate for completing the Shamati Cohort Training. \n				\n			\n\n	 				\n				\n					WHAT\n					\n				\n\n				\n					Shamati cohort sessions will increase climate emotional literacy and familiarity with earth-based Judaism\, providing knowledge and educational tools to bring Jewish wisdom\, values\, ritual\, stories\, and song that speak to the needs of young adults. Innovative in content\, sessions will cover traditional Jewish texts and environmental frameworks\, recent interventions at the forefront of climate psychology\, somatics\, and social movement liberation theories.
