Overview

This Shabbaton is an opportunity for Adamah on Campus Chapter Leaders from around the country to come together, learn, and connect. At the Shabbaton you can expect an exciting mix of time to hang out with old friends and make new ones, Jewish environmental learning, skills building, chapter program planning, meeting with local leaders, connecting with the beautiful nature at Pearlstone, joining in a song-filled and spiritually uplifting Shabbat experience, and more!

Together we will: 

  • Participate in workshops, Jewish environmental educational programming, and plan climate-focused projects to bring back to our campuses 
  • Get outside, connect with nature, and build community with a network of Jewish peers 
  • Connect to Jewish traditions and rituals in new and creative ways, experiencing the intersection of Judaism with the natural word 
  • Learn new content and concrete skills  

Retreat Details

Facilities: Pearlstone Retreat Center, just outside of Baltimore, MD. Pearlstone offers a one-of-a-kind, memorable and meaningful experience to all who visit. Situated on 180 acres of green and serene farmland in the suburbs of Baltimore, Maryland, Pearlstone provides loving warmth to people of all ages and backgrounds throughout Baltimore, the Chesapeake region, and beyond. At Pearlstone we will have the opportunity to explore the farm, see the animals, explore the woods, and more.

Staff & Safety: Select staff members will be first aid and CPR certified. In the event of a medical emergency, you will be brought to the Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD 2 (25-minute drive) by ambulance only. Students are responsible for bringing and managing their own medications.  

Food: All meals will be provided in the dining hall at Pearlstone Retreat Center. All food will be kosher certified under OU supervision. Special arrangements can be made for those with food allergies. Snacks will be provided throughout. Students may bring their own snacks, but these must not be brought into the main building or dining area and must be cleaned up to avoid pests in the lodges.
