Jewish Environmental Education Cohort Fall 2025   

This fall, we are thrilled to continue the Cohort, building upon our comprehensive and enriching experience designed to deepen connections to Jewish environmental education and empower participants with tools and inspiration to integrate environmental stewardship into your Jewish organization, whether in the classroom, on the pulpit, with community members, or throughout Jewish institutional life more broadly.

The Jewish Environmental Education Cohort is designed for educators, engagement professionals, and individuals interested in exploring the intersections of Jewish wisdom tradition and environmental stewardship and translating that knowledge within communities in which you work.

The Cohort theme for Fall 2025 will be Food Systems and the Food Cycle with content rich in growing, harvesting, serving, preparing, saving, and teaching about food and informed by Jewish values. Our cohort will wrap up at the Adamah Detroit Community Summit on November 16, where participants will have a chance to network and broaden knowledge around environmental stewardship within and beyond our Jewish community.

Monthly email newsletters will provide ongoing support with tailored resources, while one-on-one coaching opportunities with Adamah educators offer personalized guidance to refine curriculum ideas and programming strategies, ensuring maximum impact in educational endeavors.

Throughout the series, participants will receive a monthly email newsletter packed with resources, curriculum materials, and inspiration tailored to the season. These resources will support ongoing learning and provide fresh ideas for integrating Jewish environmental education into your programs and teachings.

• Examples might include:

  • Text and themes tying local ecology to Jewish calendar and holidays

  • Curriculum related to the changing seasons, including outdoor activities and crafts with natural materials

  • Highlights of Jewish events and learning opportunities

As a member of the cohort, you’ll have the opportunity to schedule one-on-one meetings with Adamah educators to workshop curriculum ideas, brainstorm programming strategies, and receive personalized support tailored to your specific needs and goals. These sessions will be invaluable for refining your approach and maximizing the impact of your work.

Registration for Adamah Detroit’s 2025 Jewish Environmental Education Cohort is now open! We offer two sliding scale registration prices to accommodate different needs and financial abilities:

New cohort members: $180-$360 (includes 4 sessions – two sessions with light snacks, one session with dinner, and the Community Summit registration fee, plus resource sharing and coaching opportunities).

Returning cohort members: $150-$300 (includes 4 sessions – two sessions with light snacks, one session with dinner, and the Community Summit registration fee, plus resource sharing and coaching opportunities)

On the Adamah Detroit team, Julie is responsible for Jewish Environmental Education and Leadership Development initiatives, working with schools, camps, congregations and community groups to integrate Jewish and environmental values and deepen our collective care for the earth. Julie also manages community-wide holiday programming and family offerings, including Tu B’Shvat Seder, Sukkot on the Farm, Adamah Adventures Family Series, and monthly Walking Toward Shabbat gatherings.
Julie was an integral part of the inaugural Hazon Detroit team (Adamah is the merger between Hazon and Pearlstone Retreat Center), supporting the Detroit Hub launch in 2015. Her career in the Jewish community has spanned more than 15 years, two communities (Detroit and Pittsburgh), and organizations including Hillel of Metro Detroit, Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh, and The J Detroit (formerly JCC of Metropolitan Detroit). She holds a Master of Arts degree in Food and Sustainability from Chatham University in Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Wayne State University in Detroit. In the summertime, Julie loves practicing yoga outdoors, frequenting local pools and beaches, and camping with her family around Pure Michigan.

Limor brings together her love for Jewish life and her belief in the power of land-based connection to support Adamah Detroit’s portfolio of Jewish Environmental Education and Leadership Development projects. Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Limor has been deeply involved in the Detroit Jewish community since 2018 through her work at Tamarack Camps, where she held various roles until 2025. From 2022 to 2025, she also served as a research assistant at the Urban Institute, focusing on social safety net policies and workforce development. She holds a B.A. in Sociology and Social Policy and Practice from Tulane University in New Orleans. Limor brings warmth, intentionality, and connection to her work, helping to build vibrant, inclusive communities rooted in Jewish values and a deep relationship with the land.
