Adamah Kayak Adventure
Join us on the open water as we paddle the Huron River and enjoy the beauty of Proud Lake Recreation Area. Our downstream and upstream paddle will be through shallow water and is perfect for seasoned kayakers and new paddlers alike.
Each tandem kayak holds two paddling participants – perfect for a parent/child pair! This program is developed for children 5-12, though younger and older siblings are welcome based on the family’s comfort and experience with paddling. Canoes are also available to accommodate the needs of different families.
Canoes are suitable for 2 adults or 1 adult and 1 child who can paddle, with an additional 100lbs of coolers or kids in the middle. If you are bringing young children who cannot paddle, you will need two adults to paddle your canoe. If you have questions about how best to participate with your family – please reach out to the Adamah team and we’ll be happy to figure out the best fit with you!
We will begin with a review of kayak and canoe safety, enjoy paddling along the river, dive into some open swim time and picnic lunch, and then return back to our starting point.
Please bring any sunscreen, water, and lunch you need. Additional summer snacks will be provided! There are bathrooms and on-site parking.
Sliding scale pricing:
Adults and children 8 and up: $18-36
Children age 7 and under: $5
Please note: The Recreation Passport is required for all Michigan state parks, trails, historic sites, boat launches, harbors, and more. The Heavner Canoe launch is located inside of the Proud Lake State Recreation Area, and requires a Michigan Recreation Passport for entry. In the case of inclement weather, we will do our best to schedule a make-up date as soon as possible. You can choose to transfer your fee to the make-up date or receive a full refund.
